Karachi University launches BS degree in Digital Media Marketing

Admissions open at Karachi University's new four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Digital Media Marketing.

Admissions to this program are now being taken for academic year 2024, and Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraq officially inaugurated it during a ceremony at Sarwar Naseem Hall within the Department of Mass Communication.

Dr Iraqi highlighted the global need and potential of this program as well as how technology and communication advancements have shrunk our world and required immediate audience participation.

"Creativity, honesty and technological knowledge can bring great success in the digital realm, but those compromising moral values or ethics may fall short," stated Hechter. Historically speaking "Technological proficiency is now key for global reach".

"This program will benefit individuals familiar with computers, current with web and internet trends, and possessing strong language abilities.

Dr Iraqi believes traditional media platforms will remain integral parts of the media industry for years to come.

He highlighted Kansas University's dedication to offering innovative new programs, noting the recent introduction of degrees such as Poultry Science, Public Health, Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Medical Laboratory Technology and Sports Business Management - all set for introduction this 2023.

Dr Iraqi has made headlines recently by declaring that students with Bachelors degrees will now be eligible to enroll in his BS Digital Media Marketing program along with intermediate graduates.

Dr Asmat Ara, Chairperson of the Department of Mass Communication, expressed confidence that students would gain skills needed to become entrepreneurs and produce original content through this program.

She noted that while seven private universities currently provide similar programs, KU was the first public university in Pakistan to do so. Dr Asif Iqbal of Digital Marketing Association Pakistan expressed his delight with its design while offering his support in any way possible.

He highlighted the need for students to adapt quickly in an ever-evolving world and encouraged them to accept constructive criticism for professional growth. Mes Manzar Ilahi, Head of Digital Output for Geo Pakistan, highlighted all of its opportunities that lie within Pakistani digital media.

He stressed the significance of learning to utilize digital media effectively in today's era, encouraging students to develop reading habits to expand their horizons and promote professional development.

Misbah Khaliq, an actress and TV director from London, stressed the value of youth as future leaders and believes their enthusiasm for learning can take them forward.
