Cabinet Approves Annual Salary Deduction of Govt Employees for Health Insurance Plans The Punjab government has decided to implement an annual premium deduction from employee salaries under their health insurance program. Back in October, the health department made their decision regarding this salary deduction and wrote directly to both departments for approval by provincial cabinet. Commencing January 1st 2024, all government employees will have Rs4,350 deducted annually as their contribution towards health insurance programs. This deduction applies even where both partners work at government organizations. Where couples serve as government employees together, any deduction will apply only to one partner's pay.
